BOB SHELDON’S “PILOT BOB RIDE”
Project Hero is proud to partner with Bob Sheldon, for the “PILOT BOB RIDE” to raise funds for Project Hero and help support our mission of Hope, Recovery and Resilience.
Bob is a Navy Veteran who will ride solo starting in Norfolk, VA in mid-May, follow the TransAmerica Route and complete his cross-country journey in Florence, OR in August.
Bob is an accomplished cyclist who has ridden in Ride 2 Recovery/Project Hero events and rode with four friends from Canada to Mexico in 2015, helping raise more than $10,000 for charity along the way. When he completed that ride, he immediately vowed to do it again, but this time from coast to coast.
“I’ve always had it in the back of my mind to ride coast to coast but had to wait until retiring to actually have the time,” he said. “The Mexico trip two years ago made me want to do it again. I will be 69 on April 13 and my wife Denise said, “there’s no time like the present!”

Along the way Bob will visit military installations, historical venues and civic points of interest. He will also will be posting daily blogs at http://www.mytb.org/Pilotbob and doing publicity on his trek with Project Hero throughout the ride.
