Rebecca Smith's Honor Ride Fundraising Page
I will be participating in Project Hero’s Las Vegas Honor Ride on November 10, 2018, while raising funds so that more injured veterans and first responders can participate in free, life-changing programs that improve their mental and physical health and wellness.
Did you know that EVERYDAY 20 veterans commit suicide? And that more than 20 percent of active and retired military have some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Working in partnership on research with Georgetown University Hospital and other leading clinical researchers, Project Hero programs have a positive measurable impact on helping those who suffer from PTSD and brain injury.
As an Army veteran who deals with PTSD, cycling has been a boost to my mental health and well-being. It is heartwarming to know that there is an organization like Project Hero. Because they recognize the value of integrating adaptive bikes and organizing therapeutic cycling events as part of any community-based rehabilation and recovery program.
Help me reach my fundraising goal of $250.00 by donating to my Honor Ride fundraising campaign. Your gift will help ensure healing heroes have the resources they need to heal mentally, physically and emotionally. Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible. Just click on Donate Now, and include my name (Rebecca Smith) as the individual fundraiser you are contributing to on the Cycling Against Military Sexual Trauma team. Thank you.
