I am participating in Project Hero's "Ride Inside" Ride on August 22 in support of injured veterans and first responders. I have participated in ride2recovery/Project Hero fundraising charity bicycling ride events in my local region in previous years and have thoroughly enjoyed supporting such a worthy cause. I have heard first-hand accounts of recovery and resilience about persons the organization has helped such as the young service member who came back from Iraq with both arms ending somewhere around the elbows; he was fitted with a custom bike he could operate with his prostheses. I heard another military veteran talk about how he stayed indoors for months before he hooked up with biycling through Project Hero which opened up a world of camaraderie and healthy exericse for him. These cases and others draw me to support Project Hero.
