Thank you for your support!
Thanks for checking out my page and most importantly what the 2018 Florida Honor Ride is all about. I grew up in a military family, am retired myself, so supporting Project Hero and Ride 2 Recovery is just one way I can give back and also honor friends and family who are still serving or who have served. Project Hero is an organization that truly makes a difference in the lives of veterans and one that is working tirelessly to help veterans recover from both visible and invisible wounds of war.
Project Hero not only provides rehabilitation services and recovery through their Ride 2 Recovery program, they have also partnered with the VA to improve mental health services for veterans. I have witnessed family members struggling with the effects of PTSD due to military service, and as a mental health professional I know PTSD is treatable. Veterans can have relief and experience recovery, if they can get timely access to care. Project Hero helps veterans find resources and services and provides connection again to the military community. Vets recover together.
I will be riding to honor, my family members currently serving, my brother John (former 82nd Airborne, currently Montana Army National Guard, Irag/Afghanistan Vet) and his wife Amber (Montana Army National Guard), my sister in-law's brother Scott (Army). To honor family who have served, my husband Doug (USAF, Retired Air National Guard) my father John (Navy, Retired Montana Army National Guard, Vietnam Vet), my step-mother Christine (Montana Army National Guard), my father in-law Michael (Army, Vietnam Vet), my grandfather Richard (Navy, WWII Vet), my grandfather Phil (WWII vet), my step-brother Jonathan (Navy).
I will be riding in memory of my brother-in-law Michael (USAF) who passed away in 2016 and to honor his wife Stacey and the Osborn family. And this time Stacey and I will be riding together.
Thank you for any support you can provide to Project Hero/Ride 2 Recovery.
